Cheapass Games will return to Gen Con in 2018! Join us at our booth, shared with our good friends at Studio Foglio (creators of Girl Genius), to celebrate the upcoming release of The Island of Doctor Lucky and Girl Genius: The Works. Demo both of these games and more. Make a lasting memory by having your picture taken while killing our real-life Doctor Lucky. Finally, take part in one of our many events:

Button Men Tournament
Friday, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
Beat people up! With dice, though, not fists. In addition to earning epic bragging rights, the winner of this casual tournament will receive a fabulous prize.

Girl Genius: The Works
Sunday, 1:00 PM-2:00 PM
The classic strategy card game has returned, with all-new cards & characters from the comic!

How many games can you play with a Pairs deck?
Friday, 12:00 PM-1:00 PM
Answer: A lot! Learn & play a variety of games that can be played using a Pairs deck, such as Deadfall, Bitter, Kitty, Fancy, the original Pairs, & more! Amaze your friends!

The Island of Doctor Lucky
Thursday, 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
Kill Doctor Lucky on his private tropical island! Navigate the hazards & pitfalls on the Island of Doctor Lucky while competing with your fellow adventurers to do the old man in!

Looking to play some Tak? The US Tak Association has you covered. To play a few friendly games and learn basic strategy, join them for a casual Tak session. All skill levels are welcome!

Gen Con 2017 Tak Tournament prize; a bespoke Bolivian Rosewood Tak set handcrafted by Wyrmwood Gaming.

Tak in the Morning
Sunday, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

Tak in the Afternoon
Friday, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM

Tak in the Evening

You can also try your hand against some of the best Tak players in the country at the third annual USTA Gen Con Tak Championship (Saturday, 1:00 PM-5:00 PM).

Finally, check out two Cheapass-adjacent events. The Girl Genius Radio Play, always a hit at Emerald City Comic Con and other shows, makes its Gen Con debut! King of the Castle Games will host a Rochi tournament. Designed by our own James Ernest, Rochi is a gambling game set in the next fantasy novel by Sonia Lyris, her sequel to The Seer.

Gen Con event registration will open on May 6th, but you can start adding games to your wish list now. Check out the Gen Con website for an overview of how their event ticketing system works. We’ll see you there!
